Malik Monk had another nice game in Wednesday’s 100-108 loss, scoring 21 points and adding six rebounds, three assists and four triples.
Monk was second on the team with 32 minutes played and shot 7-of-18, though his zero turnovers is one of the more encouraging notes from this one. He was the backup point guard tonight, and could potentially usurp that role full-time before his competition gets healthy. The Hornets need his deep shooting and haven’t been shy about their plans to use Monk as a combo guard this season, so he’s well worth a late-round flier at this point. The rookie should be able to chip in points and threes at a minimum.
