Manu Ginobili put forth another strong effort in a Game 1 loss, notching 17 points and three steals in 26 minutes off the bench.
Ginobili shot 7-of-10 and was part of a terrific first half that silenced the Oracle crowd. He had the place silent after converting an and-one stemming from an easy interception on a telegraphed pass in the second quarter. While the Spurs obviously didn’t hold on today, Ginobili continues to play well and he’ll be a key part of the upset efforts going forward. He also had a big dunk in the game’s closing moments and will serve as a primary ball-handler with or without Kawhi Leonard around. If Leonard misses time, expect his minutes to rise.
