Marcus Smart (thumb) made it out onto the court for his first post-surgery workout and hopes to return by Game 7 of the first round or early in the second round.
Smart will be playing with a small splint on his thumb to protect the thumb from going back to the side. Smart expects to play with the splint for the next couple of months and will focus on rebuilding the muscles around his thumb over the next couple weeks. The Celtics won Game 1 without Smart but he will be needed if the Celtics want to have any chance of making it out of the East.
