While talking with Justin Termine and Brendan Haywood, Cuban said that the likelihood of Dirk Nowitzki playing beyond the 2018-19 season is "under 50 percent," but that Dirk could also decide to stick around longer.
Nowitzki, meanwhile, has not committed to retiring after next season while during his celebrity baseball game back in June he said that he's not completely sure about his plans past next season. "I'm not a hundred-percent sure I'll retire next year, so I kind of leave that open.” He added that he's going to cut back his travel schedule this summer to aid in the rehab of his left ankle and with the Mavs adding Luka Doncic and DeAndre Jordan Dirk should be already excited for a meaningful season.
