Marvin Bagley scored 20 points on 9-of-11 shooting (including a three) with nine rebounds, three assists and five blocks in 32 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's blowout loss to the Nuggets.
If you were blind and only heard the telecast you'd think he was Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain all rolled up into one. But he was picked on relentlessly on defense, was opportunistic in blocking shots in a garbage time environment and did well to be active offensively in a lightly contested game. If you can put the local hype into perspective and evaluate him for what he is — a pogo stick rookie with a strong left hand and savvy offensive game — then you'll understand why he disappears from time to time as he becomes unplayable on the defensive end. There's enough upside here for fantasy owners to see where this is heading, but keep expectations in check.
