According to Jake Fischer of SI, the Mavs are serious contenders to sign Jrue Holiday.
Holiday makes for an intriguing addition to the Mavs core that has every other starting position filled with starter-level talent other than the PG spot. Holiday has expressed interest in playing with his brother Justin, a free agent from the Knicks, and the Mavs are open to bringing him aboard which could help entice Jrue to join the team. The Pelicans have been clear the Holiday is their top-priority this summer and can pay him more than any other team so they remain the favorites to retain him with the Mavs a clear second at this point. Staying with the Pelicans would be best for Holiday’s fantasy production as the clear third option behind Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins but it should be an interesting summer for him as he hits free agency in his prime at age-27.
