ESPN reported that second-year forward Justin Anderson is viewed as a potential starter by the Mavs if Chandler Parsons leaves in free agency.
We love Anderson and he reminds us a lot of Jae Crowder in that the fantasy stats weren’t there while he was in Dallas or even early on in Boston, but the athleticism is there and there is a foundation to build on for Rick Carlisle. Anderson can shoot the three and he has the potential to be a defensive beast, so if we’re calling the shots we’d much rather have him on a rookie scale deal than Parsons on a bloated deal. There’s a reason Parsons is posting Instagram pictures touting his free agency and the Mavs are alright with that. Fantasy owners should hope that the big box sites don’t pick up on Anderson’s upward trend until late in draft season.
