The Mavs have selected Oklahoma's Trae Young fifth overall and traded him to the Hawks.
Dallas will also send a protected 2019 first-rounder to the Hawks in exchange for Luka Doncic. Young won't have the same license to fire at will that he had in college, but he's got incredible range and solid passing vision. If the Hawks can get him to really tighten things up and take exclusively quality shots, he might have enough in terms of triples and steals to be a fantasy roster-filler. Young's turnovers may also prove problematic, so 9-cat players should be a little wary. He figures to be overhyped in fantasy as owners will need a lot of ifs to break the right way for Young to be a real asset. This may point to the end of Dennis Schroder's tenure as Atlanta's starting point guard, if not as a Hawk in general.
