The Mavs have signed Yogi Ferrell to a two-year deal worth more than $5 million, per Marc Stein.
Shams Charania is also reporting that Ferrell has been promised the backup shooting guard role this season. It's a nice feather in his cap but the Mavs are pretty deep on the wings and that could be a spot occupied by Luka Doncic, so there might not be a lot of time available. Ferrell is a deep league source of scoring and triples, with moderate output in assists and steals. The Mavs recently rescinded his qualifying offer but delivered on their word and got him under contract anyway. It's also less annually than his one-year qualifying offer and the second year isn't fully guaranteed, so this is a nice bit of business on the team side.
