Milwaukee Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer has been named the 2019 NBA Coach of the Year.
Budenholzer led the Bucks to the best record in the NBA in his first year as head coach, a 16-win improvement from last years’ 7th seed finish. This is his second time receiving the award, with his first being when he led the Hawks to 60 wins in the 2014-15 season. The Bucks finish the regular season ranked number one in defensive rating (18th last year), opponent fast break points and opponent points in the paint. Offensively, they ranked number first in points per game, second in triples per game, fourth in offensive rating and second true shooting percentage.
