• Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer thinks Michael Kidd-Gilchrist might have a lesser role this season as new coach James Borrego looks to revamp the offense.

Borrego will try to increase the pace, increase efficiency in transition, move the ball more in the halfcourt, and shoot a higher volume of 3-pointers, all skills that MKG lacks. Despite his considerable defensive chops, he hasn't been able to get over the hump trying to correct his shooting. Last season MKG played in a career-low 25.0 minutes per game and barely ranked inside the top-250 in 9-cat. Even in deep leagues he won't be on the radar unless he somehow gets more run. This is good news for Nic Batum and Jeremy Lamb, however. Second year pro Malik Monk could also benefit after tearing it up in Summer League.
