Moe Harkless (left knee) says that he'll be back in action for at least one of the Blazers' five preseason games and that he'll be ready for opening night.
Harkless isn't fully recovered from a March knee surgery — the one he rushed back from to play in the postseason. While it's concerning that he hasn't hit 100 percent after a seemingly minor operation and Terry Stotts said that he only participated in a third of Tuesday's practice, Harkless says that he was a much fuller participant than indicated. He said that the current practice limitations are more about prioritizing his time than anything else, as he participates in all 5-on-5 work but sits out drills that are less important. There's no structural damage and he's only dealing with "an aching soreness." If Harkless is ready for opening night, and the scope of his participation seems to lead to that conclusion, then he'll be on the board as a sneakily versatile late-round option.
