The NBA has granted the Blazers a $2.86M injury exception for Rodney Hood on Tuesday, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
With the exception, the Blazers have until March 10th to sign a player to a one-year contract or an expiring contract within the afforded salary range. The Blazers need frontcourt depth behind Carmelo Anthony and Hassan Whiteside, and this money will help with that. It seems more than likely that the Blazers will wait until after the buyout market as the team already has the highest payroll in the league.
