According to the Memphis Commercial Appeal NBA injuries are up 42 percent from the same portion of games from last season.
There have been over 3,900 games lost due to injuries this season according to injury-tracking website ManGamesLost.com. The NBA also reached 3,000 games lost a month faster than last year. This is unusual after Commissioner Adam Silver made changes this season to reduce the number of back-to-backs and single-game road trips as well as total travel time. It hasn’t worked so far. The big names who have lost time include Gordon Hayward (leg), Kawhi Leonard (quad), DeMarcus Cousins (Achilles), John Wall (knee), Kevin Love (hand), Kristaps Porzingis (ACL), Mike Conley (Achilles) and Paul Millsap (wrist). Fantasy owners have had to make quite a few adjustments so far this season, but hopefully the added week of rest for All-Star weekend will lead to a healthier stretch run.
