The Nets’ super-thin frontcourt could use another body as it is being reported that they are currently looking at Jared Sullinger and Tyler Zeller.
If signed by the Nets, it may not take much to win a rotation spot as the team’s only current centers are Timofey Mozgov and rookie Jarrett Allen. Sullinger played only 11 games for the Raptors last year after having a screw inserted into his foot and then traded to and subsequently waived by the Suns. He averaged 10.3 points and 8.3 rebounds in only 23.6 minutes for Boston in the 2015-2016 season and recently said he is down to 285 pounds, after reaching as much as 320 while on the Celtics. He is still only 25 years old. Zeller, 27, desperately wants to turn his career back around after he played only 10.3 minutes per game in his fifth season in the NBA on the stacked Celtics squad, after playing as much as 26.4 minutes as a rookie on the Cavs. His per-36 numbers last season were 12.2 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks. Sullinger has the higher ceiling of the two but a wait-and-see approach is best and neither player should be drafted in fantasy even the Nets pick one of them up.
