Nicolas Batum (fractured left third finger) is listed as probable to play against the Knicks on Saturday.
Batum only played 11 minutes in the first game of the season prior to going down. Last year, he put up top-110 value in 31.4 minutes per game on 9.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.6 blocks and 1.5 triples on a 44.9 field goal percentage and 86.5 free-throw percentage. The Hornets already told their veterans prior to the start of the season that their focus will be to develop the younger talent . Although P.J. Washington slowed down a little from his hot start, he expects to remain the starter with Batum coming off the bench so Batum should see less minutes than last year although he might still see enough to flirt with late-round value. In any case, he is not a must-add right now.
