Nick Nurse said that he believes Jonas Valanciunas (dislocated thumb) can beat his current timetable.
The Raptors provided an update on JV today, in which they said he'd be wearing a splint for all basketball activities over the next four weeks with regular re-evaluations during that period. Nurse projected 3-to-4 more weeks on the sidelines for Valanciunas back on January 2, so it's not surprising that he thinks the big man may be able to return ahead of schedule. We'll see what happens going forward. Valanciunas has already missed a month with the injury but is reportedly progressing well.
