Nick Young will start at shooting guard for the Lakers on Wednesday.
Young will be coming off some DNP-CD’s, and it’s a bit of a surprise to see him jump right back into the mix considering LA has shut down two veterans in the past two days. It’s unlikely that Young produces enough to be more than a deep league 3-point specialist, and it’s entirely possible that he goes back to the bench at some point. The move also means that D’Angelo Russell will continue to come off the bench for the time being. His stock is trending down but we’re not too worried just yet- his minutes haven’t cratered and he’s still a part of the core. Besides, he could be back starting at point guard in the next game- the Lakers are throwing a ton of different looks out right now so there’s nothing to fret over.
