Nicolas Batum scored 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting (including three treys) with nine rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks over 27 minutes in Saturday's loss to the Kings.
Batum had a nice size advantage against the smaller wings of Sacramento, but this game was about the Hornets stepping up following two blowout losses. They played with good energy, the Kings made the game loose and Batum knew he needed to be assertive in this one. Why he can't be this engaged every night is the money question, but for now he's just a late round guy with whatever upside you'd want to attribute to him turning the light bulb on. Marvin Williams also enjoyed the size advantage and ended up with two steals and three blocks to go with six points, eight boards, two assists and a trey in the loss.
