Nicolo Melli may play some center for the Pelicans

David Griffin said that he liked the idea of newcomer Nicolo Melli playing some center for the Pelicans this season.

Melli is an interesting import name for the Pelicans who will really be starting with a clean slate and a lot of opportunity. As a playmaker in the mold of a Boris Diaw who can pass but is decidedly undersized to play center, we'll see if he can make an impact in an NBA rotation

Alex Caruso

Alex Caruso (sore right wrist) played 20 minutes in Thursday's Game 4 victory, notching three points, two assists, a steal, a block and a 3-pointer.

Caruso was initially probable to play and never seemed in danger of sitting this one out despite going for an MRI yesterday. His five fouls may have done more to limit him than anything else in the Lakers' win tonight, and you can expect a healthy Caruso to be one of the top reserve options for LA moving forward.

Jamal Murray

Jamal Murray couldn't lead the Nuggets past the Lakers in Thursday's 108-114 Game 4 loss with his 32 points, three boards, eight dimes and one block.

With the Lakers keying in on Nikola Jokic, Murray was able to get going early in the first quarter. When they threw traps at him early in offensive sets, Murray was able to adapt and attack earlier to get himself cleaner looks. The point is, Murray is a budding superstar and is having one of those breakthrough moments before our very eyes. The Nuggets are still big underdogs in this fight, but with Murray, they have a fighting chance.

Nikola Jokic

Nikola Jokic scored 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting with seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and two triples in Thursday's Game 4 against the Lakers.

Jokic was stifled in the first part of the game as Dwight Howard drew the start and imposed his physicality early. The Joker is known for shying away from shot attempts when things aren't going easy for him, but he stepped up a bit in the second half and started to hit some open 3s to open up the offense for the Nuggets. Expect him to come out much more aggressive in Game 5 now that he can prepare for Howard in the starting lineup.

Michael Porter Jr.

Michael Porter Jr. scored 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting to go with eight rebounds, an assist, a steal and three 3-pointers in Thursday's Game 4 against the Lakers.

Porter Jr. had his shot going tonight, nailing some tough step-back 3s which makes it easier to play him considering his defensive weaknesses. The Lakers also deploy lineups with Rajon Rondo and Kyle Kuzma which help his case for staying on the floor.

Jerami Grant

Jerami Grant scored 17 points on 6-of-13 shooting to go with two boards, an assist and two 3-pointers in Thursday's Game 4 vs. the Lakers.

Grant had another great game for the Nuggets and continues to draw coverage on LeBron James and Anthony Davis while maintaining a solid scoring role. He has a player option this summer, but he'll surely decline and command a great deal of money in the open market as every team could use a guy like Grant on their roster.
