Nikola Jokic sat out for the final quarter of Tuesday’s loss due to what Mike Malone deemed a “coach’s decision.”
The Joker had his third consecutive quiet scoring outing, finishing with just four points, nine rebounds and five assists on 2-of-9 shooting. He had trouble staying with Dirk Nowitzki in the perimeter while Denver made a fourth quarter charge with the reserve unit of Devin Harris, Will Barton, Malik Beasley, Trey Lyles and Mason Plumlee on the floor. Malone recently said that the team’s offense will continue to run through Jokic and it’s his lack of effort on the defensive side that led to his benching so owners should expect the big man to bounce back against the Cavaliers on Wednesday.
