Nikola Mirotic started at power forward but played only 19 minutes with four points, four rebounds and a steal in an upset victory.
Mirotic was a brutal 1-of-9 from the field and missed all five of his attempts from deep. He was completely outplayed by Bobby Portis, and didn’t show enough positives to make us think that’ll change going forward. The Bulls probably won’t change the starting five coming off a win, but if this was a purely merit-based decision he’d be replaced in Game 2. Niko is incredibly streaky so we can’t write him off entirely, but this was a horrific start to his postseason.
