January 13, 2019, 4:59 pmOtto Porter Jr.F, Washington Wizards
Otto Porter was huge off the bench in Sunday's home loss, playing 44 minutes and going 10-of-19 from the field for 27 points with eight rebounds, an assist, two steals, a block and one turnover.
It's painful how much better Porter is than most of his teammates, and he was a plus-23 in this one — that means that the Wizards were outscored by 25 in the 14 minutes that he wasn't on the court. His shooting helped Washington scratch and claw their way back into this one, keeping it in the balance even though they only led once all day (and that came in the second overtime). The Wiz hit a franchise-record 19 threes as a team today and Porter was a big part of those efforts, and had a pretty good look in the closing seconds that came up just short. It shouldn't be long now before Porter rejoins the starting lineup.
