Pascal Siakam finished Monday’s blowout win over the Pistons with 11 points, five rebounds, six assists and two blocks in 24 minutes of work.
The Raptors were able to rest their starters for the entire fourth quarter again, but Siakam is an integral member of the rotation even outside of garbage time. His defense will always keep him on the floor and he’s made some nice strides as a passer lately. The Raptors have started toying with him as a primary ball handler in some of their bench units, and the garbage time certainly provides a pressure free environment with which to work. Siakam is still a deep league play but has shown much more versatility than expected in his second season. Jakob Poeltl also had a nice game off the bench with eight points, four rebounds, three steals, a block and a nasty poster over Andre Drummond.
