Among a group of 14 NBA veterans, Paul Millsap is one of only three players to average at least 10 points and five rebounds in 20-plus minutes per game, joining LeBron James and LaMarcus Aldridge.
The offseason addition of Jerami Grant left many to wonder if Millsap’s days as Denver’s starting power forward were numbered, but reality has proved a lot different. The veteran forward reduced the amount of “heavy lifting” during the summer and focused instead in the increase of biomechanics. The elimination of wasted movement with flexibility has maximized his burst, allowing Millsap to rise through contact in the post and finish with authority against defenders a decade younger. The results have been impressive with Millsap returning top-75 value while looking a lot more agile and healthy.
