Paul Millsap (right calf tightness) and Malik Beasley (right quad contusion) to sit out on Monday

Neither Paul Millsap (right calf tightness) nor Malik Beasley (right quad contusion) will play against the Suns on Monday night.

Though neither Millsap nor Beasley have been playing small forward, this should open up a few minutes for the Nuggets' four small forward options as most can slide over to the two or four.

Alex Caruso

Alex Caruso (sore right wrist) was active in Saturday's win over the Nuggets, leading all Laker reserves with 26 minutes, 11 points (5-of-7 shooting), two rebounds, four assists, one steal and one one block.

Caruso has long been touted as an underrated defender and he brought his bag of intangibles with him to work tonight. His heavy minutes is a good sign that his wrist injury might not be a lingering concern. While the Lakers lean heavily on both LeBron James and Anthony Davis, its key role-players like Caruso and Danny Green (11 points, two 3s, two assists, two blocks) to round out one of the league's most potent defenses in the playoff bubble.

Dwight Howard
C, Los Angeles Lakers

Dwight Howard drew another start for the Lakers on Saturday and rewarded his team with a solid effort on defense, providing them with nine points, nine rebounds and two blocks in 35 minutes.

It was nice to see Howard flirt with a double-double in this one, but his impact in the game was far more meaningful than what was reflected on the stat sheet. Howard's body in the paint gave Nikola Jokic and the rest of Denver's frontcourt some headaches. He nearly got into it with Paul Millsap after Howard landed a shoulder to Millsap's face while boxing him out for a rebound. Beyond that, Howard was not involved in any sort of on-court antics.

Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis looked like he re-injured his already ailing left ankle in the second half of Saturday's win over the Nuggets, but still managed to post 27 points on 8-of-16 shooting form the field and a perfect 9-for-9 run at the free throw line.

AD was able to do it all, despite clearly being slowed down a bit by his ankle in this game. He added five rebounds, three assists, two 3s, two steals and one block, for another well-rounded performance. We'll keep an eye on Davis' left ankle for now, so stay tuned for any updates.

LeBron James
SF, Los Angeles Lakers

LeBron James helped push his Lakers into the NBA Finals on Saturday via a 117-107 Game 5 win over Nuggets, stamping his seal of greatness with a 35-point, 16-rebound, 10-assist triple-double.

James made 15-for-25 shots from the field and was on the mark with 7-of-8 shooting from the line. He added one 3-pointer and one steal to his already impressive stat line for the night. James took and scored nine straight points for the Lakers in the fourth quarter to ensure that no amount of effort from the Nuggets would be able to erase their single-digit lead at the time. James is only the second Laker in history to drop 35 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists in a playoff game. The other was "Big Game James" (Worthy), so he's in truly elite company.

Monte Morris
PG, Denver Nuggets

Monte Morris saw 28 minutes off the bench in Saturday's Game 5 loss to the Lakers, rising to the occasion for 10 points (4-of-9 shooting), two rebounds and seven assists.

Morris served as an extra capable ball-handler and passer as Jamal Murray was playing hobbled by his right knee contusion. Morris soaked up extra minutes as coach Mike Malone benched an ineffectual Gary Harris, who had three points on 1-of-4 shooting with one triple, two rebounds and one assist in 13 minutes.
