While Ish Smith recently replaced Reggie Jackson in Detroit’s starting five, neither player brought the goods in a brutal Friday loss.
Smith shot 3-of-7 to finish with six points and three boards in 16 minutes. That’s right, no assists. Reggie Jackson played 20 minutes and shot 5-of-14 on his way to 11 points, four boards, three assists and a block. In a horrific game for the Pistons, there’s hardly anything to learn. Jackson has been a cut candidate for a long time now and he probably won’t post too many lines better than this unless he reclaims his starting job. Smith will be a fine guy to own if you can sacrifice your field goal percentage for some extra assists. Neither player moves the needle all that much going forward.
