The primary candidates to take the Warriors’ backup shooting guard spot, Patrick McCaw and Nick Young, each scored six points in Saturday’s 102-108 loss to the Nuggets.
McCaw had the playing time edge with 22 minutes compared to Young’s 19. Swaggy P was 2-of-7 from the floor with both makes coming from downtown and added a steal for good measure while McCaw shot 3-of-8 with three rebounds. The two will be battling for scraps behind Golden State’s star-studded backcourt and won’t be worth monitoring outside of deep leagues. If Young were to win the job he might offer some appeal as a 3-point specialist, but that’s about it.
