Quin Snyder said that it isn’t clear yet whether Joe Johnson will come off the bench or start according to the Deseret News’ Jody Genessy.
Coaches will do this during the preseason and though we’ve had Johnson slated to come off the bench it’s not like we’d be shocked if his lower-end minutes get pushed into the starting unit. That would take some jumbling of guys like Rodney Hood, but if Alec Burks can’t get on the floor it’s possible they like Hood’s scoring punch with the second unit. Either way, Johnson isn’t going to have much value outside of deeper leagues and we’re not overly worried about Hood disappearing or anything like that.
