The Raptors will run a completely new-look starting five of Kyle Lowry, C.J. Miles, Danny Green, Kawhi Leonard and Serge Ibaka for Saturday's preseason opener.
The big change is Jonas Valanciunas making way for Ibaka. It's obvious that Ibaka needs to play center as his mobility is miles away from where it used to be, but it was thought that he'd be the one coming off the bench instead of JV. Leonard playing the four opens up a spot for Miles and this lineup gives the Raptors their most dangerous group of 3-point shooters plus some switchability from two through four, though Miles should be the most sheltered of the bunch. OG Anunoby's absence also factors in here as he's in the running to start at a forward spot. Nick Nurse will be experimenting with his diverse personnel all preseason so don't read too much into a single-game lineup even if the Ibaka-Valanciunas dynamic is an interesting one.
