The Bulls recently made a multi-year contract offer to Bobby Portis, and talks are expected to continue.
Portis would be a restricted free agent next summer if he doesn't sign an extension before the season begins. While he finally put together a decent year last season, it wasn't without controversy and it's worth questioning whether the Bulls open up a full-time starting job for him. Portis needs to increase his production of cash counters and maintain his newfound efficiency to be a serious asset in fantasy leagues, but should be good for low-end returns in standard leagues unless the Bulls really fill out their frontcourt group. If no extension is signed, Portis may find an extra gear to tack some dollars onto the offers he'll get in free agency.
