In a move that is considered a mere formality, the Cavs will exercise the third-year contract option on second-year man Collin Sexton.
The Cavs’ 2018 first-round pick will now make $4.99 million in the 2020-21 season. Aside from Sexton, the other rookie option the Cavs have to decide on is Ante Zizic’s, worth $3.8 million. It’s unclear what Cleveland’s plan is for Zizic at the current moment, as he is out with an injury and has a less clear role in the team’s rebuilding plan.
