Multiple league sources told cleveland.com there is "a ton" of interest on both sides to discuss an extension for Larry Nance Jr., who the Cavs view as a “foundational piece.”
Starting July 1st, the Cavs can negotiate a contract extension up to four years with Nance since he is entering the final year of his rookie contract. If they are not able to reach an agreement, the Cavs would still have Nance's rights and could make him a restricted free agent in the summer of 2019. Nance’s role with the Cavs still largely depends on LeBron James’ decision this summer but the altheltic forward looks like a lock to remain in Cleveland for the next few years.
