According to Adrian Wojnarowski, after a CDC recommendation against the gathering of 50 or more people for the next eight weeks, NBA owners and executives are hoping for a mid-to-late June return of basketball with no fans in attendance.
It's unclear if the CDC recommendation would extend to sporting events, but it would be difficult to organize players, team officials, referees and arena staff to stay under the 50-person limit. We should hear an official update from the NBA in the coming weeks.
