ESPN's Tim MacMahon is reporting that the Grizzlies are not interested in buying out Andre Iguodala before the season and are instead exploring the trade market, with the Rockets and Mavs among teams interested in a deal.
While the Grizzlies are understandably looking to move Iguodala off a rebuilding roster, it's smart for them to at least check and see what they could receive in a trade before cutting the veteran loose. They've already received a first-round pick from the Warriors for taking on Iguodala's salary and can spin him into even more futures if they play their cards right. Memphis has had a solid offseason in terms of adding picks and young players, and moving Iguodala to a desperate team in an increasingly wide-open Western Conference could only add to their stockpile.
