In a report from Yahoo's Chris Haynes, it was mentioned that there is a "growing belief of uncertainty" that Kyrie Irving will re-sign with the Celtics.
This story appeared to be dealt with in the preseason when Irving said he'd commit to Boston long-term, but perhaps Kyrie is having some second thoughts. The Celtics are obviously eager to get into the Anthony Davis sweepstakes but cap regulations prohibit them from acquiring Davis while Irving's current contract is on the books. They'd need to wait until the offseason to make that move, when Kyrie is technically a free agent, and will have to convince the Pelicans to wait until then to make a deal. Additionally, Haynes adds that Boston is not Davis' preferred destination. If Irving is set on playing with The Brow, it's possible that the two scheme their way onto a different team. There are a lot of moving parts to this story and whenever Davis does get traded, it has the potential to be one of the largest trades in league history.
