Shams Charania of The Vertical reported on Thursday that the Hawks and Sixers are discussing a possible trade centered on Nerlens Noel and Jeff Teague.
No deal is imminent so this was likely floated out by one of the parties to get things moving. For Teague, the move would cement his status as a fantasy producer going forward and it would potentially free Dennis Schroder, who still has really bad shot selection and decision-making to go with lightning fast quicks. He also needs a jump shot.
Noel would theoretically step in for the Hawks in a prominent role if they lose Al Horford, but even if they keep Horford there are enough minutes and shooters to deploy Noel for a healthy 30 mpg. Still, Noel loses some appeal in terms of environment because the Sixers’ junk ball games often lead to extra stats. Don’t move the needle for any of these guys just yet.
