July 10, 2019, 5:47 pmBam AdebayoC, Miami Heat
Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the Heat would like to keep Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro out of any potential deals for Russell Westbrook.
That's far from surprising, as teams tend to want to keep their good, affordable players. The Heat are also hard-capped by the sign-and-trade for Jimmy Butler and would need to send out more money than they absorb in any deal. That means that the Thunder, who have gotten themselves closer to the tax with their other offseason moves, may not feel as much pressure to take on Miami's bad deals without something good in return. It's worth noting that the Heat have yet to sign Herro, as doing so would mean he can't be traded for 30 days. We're hoping that Adebayo remains in Miami because he's looking at a great setup with early-middle round potential.
