January 16, 2019, 5:05 pmWendell Carter Jr.F, Chicago Bulls
According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, there's concern within the Bulls organization that Wendell Carter Jr. is dealing with a "significant" thumb injury.
Carter was sent for further tests today and if he's dealing with anything that could snowball, the Bulls will almost surely shut him down for an extended period. They have little to gain by playing Carter in a rebuilding year and could also use it as an opportunity to boost Robin Lopez's trade value. Bobby Portis looks like the biggest winner in fantasy and should be scooped up in all formats, Cristiano Felicio might emerge as the backup center, and Jabari Parker may move into the rotation more regularly. It sounds like Carter's fantasy owners should start making plans to be without him.
