Wizards forward Jason Smith is expected to start at the four in Wednesday’s opener against the Sixers.
Markieff Morris (hernia) is still on the shelf so Smith will start in his stead. Otto Porter and Mike Scott are also candidates to spend time at the four as well. The big man is only worth rostering as a short term fill in player if you need boards and blocks. His per 36 numbers from 2015-2016 ranked him at 72 so their is potential there for top-100 numbers if he can get at least 25 minutes per game for a as long as Morris is out. Once Morris returns then you can return Smith to the waiver wire, if he is not already there. You may want to wait a game to see how the minutes shake out before investing.
