The Jazz have expressed interest in Mike Conley, per Tony Jones of The Athletic.
Utah is looking for a more dynamic third player to put next to Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. Conley would be a huge upgrade at point guard and Ricky Rubio is headed for free agency, so the fit makes some sense, though it's fair to question whether or not Utah has the type of assets that Memphis would want in a deal. Moreover, a Conley acquisition would lock the team's core in for the next three years, and while they'd be a formidable opponent for anyone it might not be enough to let them hit a championship level in the era of superteams. Conley's going to be tough for the Grizzlies to move, as most teams who fancy themselves contenders already have legitimate point guards, and the teams who don't probably wouldn't want to spend futures on a 31-year-old. Conley's fantasy value should be safe no matter where he is, though a move would eliminate some shutdown risk.
