Multiple teams are likely to be interested in paying Jerami Grant the full mid-level exception in free agency, a contract worth $8.6 million per year.
Grant grew into his role with the Thunder this season averaging just 8.4 rebounds and 3.9 rebounds per game but the 24-year-old has the game of a prototypical modern power forward. At 6’9”, he's athletic, versatile defensively and a respectable 3-point threat. The Thunder might have a hard time retaining him as, if they are able to sign Paul George to a maximum contract, resigning Grant would put them in the luxury tax. Owners should absolutely keep an eye on Grant this summer as a change of scenery could bring more playing time to the talented forward while his role with the Thunder next year might upgrade depending on what happens with PG and Melo.
