The latest report out of San Antonio suggests that Kawhi Leonard is waiting to see if the team will offer him a five-year, $219 million supermax extension this summer.
The report adds that neither side has broached the idea of a potential swap as Leonard’s camp has not decided what route to take. If the Spurs do offer the extension, Kawhi will then decide if he will accept the offer after repairing any damage with the team, which is partly due to what his group believes was a misdiagnosis of his right quad leading to the current injury. Leonard is back in San Antonio after his rehab in New York but a meeting with the Spurs is yet to be scheduled as the saga continues.
