K.C. Johnson reported that the Kings are "strongly considering" making a run at restricted free agent Zach LaVine.
It was reported by Johnson earlier that the Bulls may only offer $14-$16M to LaVine and may not match a big offer sheet. The Kings drafted Marvin Bagley III in an effort to solidify their front court but also to make sure De'Aaron Fox did not get the ball taken out of his hands. LaVine's game is best when he does have the ball, but he has the athleticism and shooting to theoretically become a good off-ball player and having more capable ball handlers is always a good thing. The Kings will have to offer LaVine a max contract for the best odds of Chicago not matching, but there has been no report on how much the Kings actually plan on offering.
