January 24, 2019, 4:21 pmTim Hardaway Jr.G, New York Knicks
According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, the Knicks have made Tim Hardaway Jr. available in trade talks.
Hardaway now joins Enes Kanter and Courtney Lee on the list of known trade candidates. He has two years left on his four-year, $71 million contract after this one, though the final season is a player option. Hardaway would be a good get for any team in need of extra shooting or depth on the wings, though the size of his contract may prove to be a major complication in negotiations. The Knicks are known to be looking for young players or draft picks and will surely take on bad salary in expiring deals in order to add futures or clear cap space for this summer, though they won't attach assets to be rid of their own big contracts. Fantasy owners should be hoping for no move here, as it's unlikely that THJ takes on a similar scoring role for a competitive team. His value relies almost entirely on points and threes, and less volume would hurt his fantasy stock substantially.
