The Knicks are one team preparing to make an offer for Anthony Davis, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
The Knicks and Lakers are the two popular names out there right now, with the Celtics unable to jump into the fray until the summer because of cap rules. New York will be able to offer Kevin Knox, a top draft pick (potentially THE top draft pick) and pending RFA Kristaps Porzingis — to whom the team reportedly may not offer a max contract this summer in the wake if his ACL tear. The Knicks have been insistent that they're not in the business of trading away assets, but if there was ever a time to move futures it's for Davis — a true megastar who may not yet be in the prime of his career. How this plays out could have major ramifications on Porzingis' relationship with the Knicks, which has already been frosty at times.
