ESPN’s Ian Begley reported that the Knicks are leaning towards using all of Allonzo Trier’s 45 ‘NBA days’ to start the season rather than waiving somebody at the end of their roster.
Trier is signed to a two-way contract which limits the time he can play in official games. He’s been one of the Knicks’ best players this preseason so they probably want to put off waving somebody for as long as possible. If Trier uses all his game, he’ll have to return to the G-League stint unless the Knicks convert his contract.
