Dan Feldman has reported that Gortat will still start at center, even after signing Ian Mahinmi.
This is great news for the Polish hammer but the minutes will likely be split between the two with Mahinmi being the first big off the bench. Mahinmi showed he could play a solid 26 minutes per game last season and be an elite rim protector when he’s not injured. Both players were solid fantasy options last year but this situation will likely lead to less production from both with Gortat being the better option. Gortat can be a top-40 value in as few as 30 minutes per game.
