The Athletic reported that former No.1 overall pick Markelle Fultz “would prefer a fresh start with a new team.”
Wow, this comes as a major shock. Fultz is also dealing with a wrist/shoulder injury and has been working with a specialist to get his wrist stronger and ready for NBA action. However, this is big news now that he wants a trade as teams would likely need to know exactly how healthy he is before they offer anything for him. Fultz’s agent Raymond Brothers came out and said that he “has given no indication to Elton Brand or anyone else that Markelle would prefer to be traded.” The denial is likely to only add fuel to the fire and while the trade deadline is still a few months away this is going to be a big story until then. Fultz is still only 20 years old and is the youngest player in NBA history to record a triple-double, stealing the title away from LeBron James and Lonzo Ball. He’s still got a ton of potential and this could get interesting.
