Butler stayed put in Chicago after the trade deadline last season but the rumors keep coming from plugged in sources and the number of potential destinations make it feel like he is a prime candidate to be moved this year. The Bulls’ asking price on Butler is reportedly high (as it should be) but Wolves are rumored to have enough assets to interest them. There are also the Tom Thibodeau ties there as the Wolves coach knows very well what Butler can do having groomed the 3oth pick in 2011 in Chicago. The Cavs could certainly use an upgrade in order to contend with the Warriors (who dismantled the defending champs rather easily in the three Finals games in Oakland). The 27-year-old swingman would be a solid upgrade to the Cleveland roster but there would need to be another team involved to make the numbers work. Regardless of where he ends up, Butler should remain a solid early round pick.
